The Libbie Club: August 2016 Beauty Box

Libbie Club August Box Nizz Cosmetics, Nanoblur, Mizon
If you haven't heard of the Libbie Club yet, where have you been? It's an exciting new beauty box concept that any beauty blogger or beauty junkie should definitely be a part of. But to avoid me repeating myself again head over to April's blog post to discover why you should consider joining!

Anyway, when the lovely people at the Libbie Club sent me August's box in the post I busily set to work putting all the products through their paces. August's box has some incredible products inside that I had to stop myself from tearing into and testing them before I had a chance to photograph them! The box included 3 summer essentials for any self-confessed beauty lover: Indeed Labs Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher, Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream and last but definitely not least, Nizz Cosmetics Lustre Lipstick in the shade Rose Nude - amazing right!

Before trying out the products I thought I'd list them in order of why I was most excited to give them a go. The Nanoblur instant skin finisher was definitely number 1 - I've been seriously getting into skin care lately and any product promising to enhance my appearance is pretty exciting. In close succession was the Nizz Cosmetics lipstick. I love the idea of a 2 in 1 product that you can pop into your makeup bag that won't take up room when you're travelling, and their lipsticks have a little tinted balm on the end of the product! Finally the Mizon placenta cream rocked up in third, not for any other reason than that I really love my existing face creams, so this little potion had very high expectations to meet!

Nizz Cosmetics Lustre Lipstick in Rose Nude Libbie Club August Box
First up I've decided to start with a review of the Nizz Cosmetics Lustre Lipstick - my personal favourite product from the box! Beautifully packaged in a sleek, contemporary tube (always a win in my eyes) the vegetarian, hypo-allergenic and paraben free lipstick, is enriched with Cocoa and Vitamin E, claiming to nourish lips, leaving them kissable and soft. As someone who considers themselves a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to lipsticks, I was expecting a lot from this brand - thankfully I was not at all disappointed!

The colour is totally gorgeous, the perfect 'everyday office' lipstick. It lasts until at least lunch time if applied when I leave the house in the morning which is amazing for me, as I usually find some lip sticks really aren't up to the job. It doesn't feel sticky, dry or cakey, one swipe gives you a beautiful pigment with a sleek sheen - no need to worry about cracking lips! Plus there's the added bonus of the end of the lip stick doubling up as a tinted balm, which is ideal because I never go anywhere without a tin of Vaseline in my bag so this would save some serious handbag space! This product is a 10 in my eyes and since checking our their website, I've discovered it's available in a whole variety of different shades which I'm adding to my lust list..

Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher Libbie Club August Box

Next up was Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher, claiming to immediately perfect the appearance of your skin when you need (or just want to) look picture perfect. A little dubious at first as to how well this would actually work, I was pleasantly surprised! You can either apply it as the last step in your skin care regime in the morning if you're going makeup free, or alternatively apply it after your foundation if you're getting dolled up - that was the weird bit for me, putting this over my foundation felt like I was putting my shirt on back to front, it just wasn't natural. But once you get over the initial alarm bells ringing, and apply it you'll fall in love with the product - you can actually see a visible difference in how much more improved your complexion looks! Now for the sciency bit, tiny prisms diffuse the natural light on your face, creating a smoothing, airbrushed effect - what ever selfie lover wants! What I'd say is teamed with your favourite primer and foundation, you'll feel worthy of doing a covershoot for your favourite magazine. I'll be saving mine for special occasions and nights out for when there's the possibility of being caught out by my friends on Snapchat - definitely give this little gem a go if you get the chance!

Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream Review Libbie Club August Box
Last but not least I put the Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream to the test - first impressions, the packaging is clean and simple creating the illusion of something almost medical, but often less can be more and I've learnt never to judge a product by its packaging! I won't lie when I first opened the box and saw the word 'placenta' I was a little like 'what the hell is in this product?!' But as it turned out it had nothing to do with any of my preconceptions, and was filled with lots of nourishing, plant goodness. The product claims to revitalise the skin and give it a refreshed, youthful appearance, and I have to say I'm in love! I've been using it as a night cream since I opened up my box, and it's left my skin feeling beautifully soft. I'm only 21, so I can't say I've noticed any wrinkles or the like being banished. But I live in the hope that this cream will keep my skin in tip top condition - something that's proved hard with the changeable weather recently!

GlassesShop Haul - Stylish New 'FP1053 - Clear' Glasses Review & Coupon Code! - Stylish New 'FP0479 - Clear' Glasses Review
As someone who's literally worn glasses ever since I can remember, I often find myself longing for new frames in order to mix up my 'face-furniture' collection. So when I was presented with the chance to pick out a pair from, I jumped at the opportunity!

Long time followers of my blog may remember my previous post about, and how pleased I was with the selection of stylish yet affordable prescription glasses they stock. But if you didn't get to read my last lot of ramblings on my 'Winchester' frames, you can take a peek here.

This time round, I still wanted an equally unusual and fun pair to add to my collection but decided to step away from the vibrant colours and printed patterns, in favour of something a little more understated. In complete contrast to all of the black and tortoiseshell frames I've ever purchased, I settled on a 'clear' pair in order to satisfy my curiosity as to whether they'd suit me or not - after all if this was a hideous mistake it's not like I couldn't have worn them alone in the safety of my home.

So I placed my order and before I knew it my glasses had landed on my door mat perfectly packaged and ready to wear! Each pair of glasses frames is shipped in a handy protective case, with a cleaning cloth to ensure that they stay as pristine as the day you purchased them (I'm really bad for absentmindedly chucking mine straight into my handbag, so I'm going to try really hard not to scratch and mark this pair!)

Anyway, I was delightfully surprised by how the clear frames actually suited me! I think they're the perfect choice for a lightweight, summer pair of glasses and they'll definitely be travelling along with me to Mexico next summer! The prescription lenses are as perfect as before and the frames incredibly comfortable to wear - not at all like some of the heavier frames I've owned in the past that can bring on unwanted headaches after being worn for long periods of time. - Stylish New 'FP0479 - Clear' Glasses Review

Once again I've been overwhelmed by the wonderful quality, design and craftsmanship of's selection of frames, and though I was lucky enough to receive these particular frames in exchange for an honest product review, I think that their prices are extremely competitive to anyone who's used to paying high-street optician prices. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who needs glasses or prescription sunglasses, and even those who don't - they offer the choice of having prescription of fashion lenses, for those who love the look of glasses but are lucky enough to have perfect vision!

I hope you enjoyed reading my post, if you're particularly keen to purchases a new pair of frames for yourself, or fancy some sunny g's for your up-coming holiday. I have a code for you to use at the checkout for a huge 50% off the total price of your purchase: GSHOT50

Just follow this link and enter the code above at the point of checkout.

Until next time..

Discovering Organik Botanik Australia's Pastel Pink Pure Clay Face Mask

Organik Botanik Australia Pastel Pink Pure Clay Face Mask

I love a good beauty buy as much of the next lady, and often find myself over indulging in luxury beauty care products where the price tag is larger than the volume of product you're purchasing! But I like to mix things up and try new bits and bobs as I find them, and one of my favourite places to stumble upon new products is TK Maxx. As if their Home section isn't alluring enough, the store also stock an interesting mix of beauty and skin care products. I'm not saying everything in there is amazing, you'll often find half opened products that have been bashed about on the shelves, but every once in a while you'll find a little gem in there. Which is exactly what happened to me the other day when I picked up a Pastel Pink Pure Clay Face Mask from Organik Botanik Australia.

Designed to 'Balance' and 'Hydrate' the skin, the brand claims that Pink Australian Clay is perfect for creating a youthful appearance and improve your skin's firmness. It's also supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin, which is a must for me.

Now I know what you're probably thinking, who are Organik Botanik? Well I'm with you on this one, there were no matching results from a quick Google search, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from trialing this face mask!

Inside the cute packaging were 3 individually packaged sachets of what can only be described as pink dust, with no particular scent and no further instructions inside. At this point I was a little dubious of the quality of the item. I'd never really tried clay masks before, and especially not 'organic' ones made from Pink Clay. That said I followed the instructions on the back of the box and proceeded to mix one of the sachets with a little water.

Immediately the dust turned into a smooth, glossy, deep red product that applied beautifully on the skin - I'd definitely be cautious when adding the water though, as a little too much could result in a drippy mess, but if you get the consistency just right you'll have the perfect, streak-free mask. As I waited for the mask to dry, I slowly watched it turn from the glossy shade of red, back to it's original hue of pastel pink. It took about 15mins to dry out completely, at which point my face felt the familiar trapped feeling of a taught face mask working its magic on your skin. A few swipes with a damp cloth to remove the product and the process was complete.

My skin did feel soft and rejuvenated, but not tight or dried out as some face masks can often leave you feeling. Who knows whether it actually benefited my skin or not, but it was nice to relax for 15 minutes and try something new at the same time. I'll definitely use up the other two sachets in the box, and maybe even save them for an evening when I can have a relaxing bubble bath and truly unwind. I have to say I like the idea of using a gentle, organic product on my face and will probably pick up further products from the brand if I happen to find any on my journeys.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post, do let me if you've discover Organik Botanik Australia and what you think of their products too!

Until next time..
