L'Oreal Paris Paradise Brow Pomade in Shade Ebony - Easy Instagram Brows!

L'Oreal Paris Paradise Brow Pomade - Shade Ebony - Review

Ever since Cara Delevigne's eyebrows hit the catwalk, brows have been big and bold. In my teen years I over plucked my brows (as was the trend of the time) and can flick back through old photos today and internally recoil in horror. Thankfully though, I was lucky enough that my overzealous tweezing didn't affect my regrowth, and my eyebrows are abundant once again.

A distinctive feature on my face I've invested a lot of time into my brows, from HD brow salon sessions, to home tinting kits. And up until recently I favoured a plain old brow pencil over any kind of powder or pomade on the market - in my eyes all I needed was a little definition and a bit of shading in sparser areas.

That was until I discovered L'Oreal's Paradise Brow Pomade, which has now become my go-to brow product.

Girls with thicker brows like me will understand the lengths you have to go to, to tame unruly eyebrows. You can gel them, put a bit of clear mascara on them, or even spritz some hairspray on a spoolie and comb your brows with it, but I have never been a big fan of any of the above. This brow pomade not only defines my natural shape though, it and adds depth to my brows, freezing them perfectly in place (and not in a plastic botox way as you might be imagining!). Which cuts out a step in my morning routine, meaning I can wrap my hands around a cappuccino about 2 minutes quicker than usual!

I still like to use my brow pencil to add a few light, feathery strokes to the inner of my eyebrows, as I find it gives that ombré 'Instagram Brow' look that everyone loves. But I blend the pomade from the centre of the brow, towards the outside. The smooth, gel formula of the pomade effortlessly glides on the skin, and gives that defined edge that no pencil or powder product could ever achieve. It's definitely easier to slip up with this product if you've not got a steady hand, but if you take it slow and apply it with the same respect you do your winged eyeliner, this product is truly faultless.

I started using my little pomade at the start of October when my sister gifted it to me for my birthday, and we're mid November and it's still going strong! A little of this bad boy really does go a long way. My hair is naturally about as dark brown as you can get without being considered black, so I use the shade Ebony, and it is perfect. No warm chestnut undertones, or weird grey looking colour that other dark brown brow products can sometimes have.

In the battle of the brows, this is the only product I can see myself using until I discover another hidden beauty gem, and I'd encourage anyone looking to switch up their brow routine to try it too!

As always I hope you enjoyed my post, let me know what brow product you personally prefer using below!

Until next time..

Winter Skin Saviour: Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Booster Serum

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Boost Serum Close Up

Every winter it's the same old battle to try and get some moisture back into my skin. Whilst drinking the recommended amount of water a day helps, and moisturiser gives a quick fix, I've recently added Vichy's newest Minéral 89 Skin Booster to my skincare regime. And honestly I'm truly impressed. (Quick side note, this product even won the Bazaar Beauty Best of the Best 2017 - so you know it's good!)

A bit of an impulse purchase in Boots, I was drawn to the sleek, blue packaging and the promise of soft, supple skin.

"Your skin's daily dose of strength. Hydrates. Plumps. Protects."

Now the very first step in my skincare regime after cleansing, I've been using this product for just over a week and I can already feel the difference. According to Vichy the formula is powered by a combination of Natural Origin Hyaluronic Acid and 89% Vichy Thermal Mineralizing Water. All of which is said to hydrate and strengthen your skin, as well as shield it from pollution. After only a week, my skin feels softer, smoother and has far less blemishes (which could in part be down to switching to a Vichy foundation too - more about this to come in a future post!).

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Boost Serum Product Review

The gel-like texture of the product is so incredibly light, and a little really does go along way - one pump of this product is more than enough. I'm not one for sticky serums that take forever to dry so I was a little worried that this would leave my face feeling slick and have my makeup sliding everywhere, but in fact this product beautifully absorbs into the skin, leaving my skin feeling supple and fresh.

My skin type is definitely dry and sensitive, so I'd say this product would be perfect for anyone, who like me, struggles to keep dry skin at bay. I'd have to question whether this product would have a little too much moisture for oily skin types though, as I have noticed that by the end of the day my T zone is a little shiny looking (I don't using setting powders & have never had this issue before). Not enough for me to put this product down though! It's become an everyday essential to battle the harsher winter weather.

London Birthday Treat: My Experience on B Bakery's Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

B Bakery London Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

Recently I've become somewhat of an afternoon tea conoisseur, definitely not intentionally though, I think I just have a little bit of an obsession with miniature sandwhichs and ornately decorated cakes and pastries. So it was no surprise that when my birthday rocked around early this month, my family decided that an afternoon tea out would be the perfect gift.

On a quest for something unique though, my mum decided against the many posh hotels within the area, and opted for an afternoon tea with a twist. An when I say twist, I mean totally unexpected, as our afternoon tea experience took place on the top deck of a London double decker bus!

If like me, you haven't heard of this even being a thing before, then I'd urge you to take a peek at B Bakery's Afternoon Tea Bus Tour. A quirky and novel idea, each of the buses has been converted to add tables to provide an unconventional dining experience - they've even thought of cup holders on the tables, so that your precious cup of tea won't go flying across the bus!

We were lucky enough to be sat on the top deck for the 1 1/2 hour long tour, and let me tell you the two tiered stand presented to us upon arrival was feast for the eyes. The exquisite selection of sandwhiches, mini quiches, cupcakes and other baked treats were truly marvellous, particularly when teamed with London's bustling views - we felt like royalty with people waving to us as we stuffed our faces with the colourful goodies.

Just when I thought I simply couldn't eat anything more, the wonderful waiters brought out warm scones, cream and jam, which left me feeling like it'd be rude not to indulge..

What's more, at the end of our tour the team who did a fabulous job of keeping our tea topped up, let us take our gorgeous travel mugs home - the perfect souvenir!

B Bakery run a variety of bus tours, from gin tasting, and Halloween-inspired afternoon teas, through to Christmas afternoon teas nearer December. A fun and delicious way to see of the areas of London you might not have experienced before, I'm already thinking about booking up the Christmas tour for later in the year - better hit the gym first though!

Until next time..
