The Latte Levy - 10 Stylish Travel Mugs You'll Want To Buy Now!

The Latte Levy - 10 Stylish Travel Mugs You'll Want To Buy Now

If you're a regular coffee drinker, and can't function before you've had a sip of your morning mocha or capuccino, then chances are you've heard about the latte levy that's going to be implemented in all of our favourite coffee shops.

With microbeads being banned, and now a call for disposable cups to be fully biodegrabable, it's a fantastic movement for the sake of the planet, but it is going to cost us all a little extra for a takeaway cup. If like me, you consider your morning coffee a luxury treat, this won't necessarily come as welcome news - we all want to save the planet, but no one wants to be paying the extra!

But before you give up the coffee for good, it's not all bad news! To combat the new levy, and incentivise us all to be more eco-friendly, many big coffee chains like Pret are actually giving a discount to people who bring a cup in of their own!

Gone are the days of ugly thermos flasks (sorry if they're your cup of tea, but they definitely aren't mine - pun intended), there's actually a whole assortment of stylish travel mugs on the market, with even designer brands cashing in on the call for eco-friendly. So I've shortlisted a few designs that have caught my eye online to share with you all. From quirky prints, to classic marble or rose gold accents, it's not hard to find a pretty travel mug to call your own!

Though the initial outset might be a little pricier than the cost of your regular coffee, you'll essentially recoup your money in no time at all. I've even seen places like Primark, with an incredible range of fun and vibrant designs at particularly affordable prices - perfect if you're watching the pennies this January!

It might seem a little inconvenient to be carrying a bulky carry cup around, but we'll all adjust! Just a couple of years ago there was outrage at having to pay 5p for a carrier bag, and now it's unthinkable to even leave the house without a cute tote bag 'just in case.' I've even seen reports on collapsable cups having been designed too, so who knows what the future holds! All we can hope is that even the smallest of our efforts helps the planet, and that we're able to support the movement in style!

Until next time..

January's TreatBox - Motivation for 2018

January TreatBox Subscription Box 2018

It's January. It's cold and rainy. I'm regretting the amount of cheese and chocolate I consumed over Christmas, and there's nothing to look forward to in the social / holiday calendar for the next month.

At least that was exactly how I felt until I arrived home to discover my January TreatBox in the post today - the perfect pick-me-up I needed to turn my day around!

Jam packed with goodies, this month's box was decidedly motivational, with everything you need to get yourself in gear for the new year. A lover of organisation and stationery, everything about this box was entirely up my street.

This is what I found inside January's TreatBox:

- Slogan Drawstring Bag
- Page A Day Diary
- Luxury Ballpoint Pen
- Motivational Message Card
- 2018 Goals List
- Memo Pad Sticky Notes
- 'Keys' Keyring
- Golden Glitter Stickers

I love the way that the boxes always tie in beautifully with each other, and this month's is no exception! The stationery is perfect for making plans and keeping them - a simple sticky note here, a doodle there, it's perfect if like me, you're always making notes and losing them. The page a day diary keeps it all in one place, scheduled to the very hour. Plus I'm loving the geometric pen that was inside too, the apricot shade is so refreshing and has me yearning for spring pastels already!

No TreatBox is complete without typography print outs either, and January's are fantastic! The little 'you got this' message tucks away safely inside the diary, for days when you need a little reminder as to how fabulous you are. Whilst the 'to-do' list for 2018 is a great way to physically write down your goals (hopefully reach them all!) then reflect on your achievements come NYE.

Finally the bag and keyring are quirky little accessories that round off the box beautifully. I'm so pleased I managed to end up with the pastel pink keyring and the shoe-themed bag (literally perfect for me too considering I bought two pairs of shoes in the January sales..), but both are handy everyday essentials that I just can't wait to put to use.

So what are your thoughts on this month's box? As always they continue to be my personal highlight at the start of the month, I just love getting a surprise in the post!

Until next time..

What 2017 Has Taught Me

What 2017 Has Taught Me

This year has been a mixture of ups and downs, with the highs being amazing memorable moments, and the lows being some of the more difficult obstacles I've had to tackle in a good few years. But from the lows, I feel like I've actually achieved a lot personally through my own growth. So here are the top five things that 2017 has taught me.

If you want it, you've got to work for it.

For ages I had this idea that good things come to those who wait, and that if you're kind, patient and positive you'll end up with everything you want. But in fact, whilst that might be true for some things, the important things in life like work or blog goals, aren't just going to all land in your lap one day. You need to put in the work. You got a dream? Go do something about it! If you want to start a course, learn a language, set up your own business, start making the steps that will allow you to get there. Whether it take a week, a month or a few years, every step you take will have you a little closer to your dream.

Channel your negativity into something positive.

When you're feeling sad, anxious or lonely, it can be easy to let yourself be consumed by those feelings. This is the year I learnt that no one can make you feel better about things that are going on around you apart from yourself. I threw myself into my blogging, art and socialising with friends and family when times got a little bit stressful, and found it all to work wonders on my stress levels. If you're able to even spend 5 minutes of your time doing productive things, or even things that'll make you happy, I guarantee it'll make you feel better.

A good night's sleep can work wonders.

I've always been a bit of a night owl and am guilty of spending too much time scrolling through social media before bed, but I really tried to take time out to read and switch off before I turned my lights out this summer. As a result I found myself feeling well rested and ready to take on the day. Unfortunately this isn't a habit I've managed to keep up in my everyday routine - I find myself to be more productive after 9pm! But having discovered what a difference a full night's sleep can make to you both physically and emotionally, I'm hoping to get my bedtime routine down in 2018.

Don't be afraid to take time out for yourself.

Bloggers will understand sometimes more than anyone else how difficult it can feel juggling a job, family, friends and a blog all at once. There are times when you can feel a little claustrophobic with all your to-do lists and social events. But instead of letting that weigh you down, it's important to just say no and take a little time out for yourself. Whether yoga is your thing, painting, blogging or just lying in bed with a box of Maltesers and having a Netflix binge, yo do you girl!

Fight for what you believe in regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I'm not saying that your opinion is the only one that matters, or that you should be pushing that on anyone else, but having an opinion and holding your own in a conversation is something I've learnt this year. If you feel passionately about a topic, don't let anyone else tell you it's wrong or stupid, instead explain with confidence why you feel that way. Having interests and hobbies is part of what makes you, you, and if someone doesn't like that then they're not important! 2018 is going to be the year of self confidence, self belief and happiness for me.

What has 2017 taught you? I'd love for you to share with me in the comments below!

Until next time..
