Primark Haul: Floral Flatform Sandals

Hey there!

Love them or hate them, 'pool sliders' were the Marmite of the fashion world last summer, they walked straight off of the catwalk and into many of our hearts. Captured by their comfortable chunky soles, and brightly coloured straps they became a staple in many people's wardrobes.
So for anyone who wasn't a fan of these stylish sandals, I'm sorry to tell you that they will be sticking around for S/S15.

Some of you might be reading this thinking I'm getting ahead of myself, but personally I'm bored of the long dark winter nights and my daydreams have been filled with distant exotic locations. So when I stumbled upon these shoes in Primark the other day, I didn't even hesitate before purchasing them.

Most of us will think of traditional Birkenstocks when we see these sandals, the popular, iconic design is available in a range of colours and styles - there's something for everyone! I purchased a pair of pool sliders in white last summer and they quickly became an everyday staple for me. I know that if I buy a pair of actual Birkenstocks this season, they'll definitely be black!

I'm not particularly adventurous when it comes to patterned clothing. I love scrolling through all the online clothing stores lusting over the colour contrasts and pattern clashes, but I never seem to stray very far from my wardrobe basics. Although I always think it's fun to inject a bit of colour into your outfits using bright accessories.

The bright, floral design of these shoes caught my attention, and I knew on the spot I would be taking them home. They're not like your regular pool sliders as their soles are thicker in the popular 'flatform' style. At 5'3" tall, this extra bit of height is what makes these shoes so appealing to me!

In my opinion the best thing about these shoes is they'll add a splash of colour and personality to any outfit. Whilst in Primark I also picked up some white skinny jeans which I know are going to look perfect paired with these sandals. If you're not used to wearing bright patterns or bold enough to try out clashing prints like myself, pairing something colourful with neutral tones like white or black is a great way to get creative and experiment with your outfits.

What spring / summer clothing can't you wait to wear again?

Thank you for reading!
