DIY Snowman Tree Decoration - Easy Christmas Craft Idea!

How To Make A Wooden Snowman Tree Decoration - Easy DIY (Step By Step Guide)

A colleague of mine mentioned how they were making their own tree decorations this year from hand-turned wood. A local carpenter was making miniature wooden snowmen, ready to paint, add faces and arms - basically personalise them however you wanted. And he was kind enough to let me have one, so I could get crafty!

I headed straight to the fabric store and picked up so ribbon for his scarf, and ended up picking up some copper jewellery-making wire too which I thought would be perfect for his arms & nose - all rose gold themed of course! You could use real sticks, or pipecleaners, but I wanted my snowman to be a little more glam and sassy.

After twisting the metal wire into my chosen shapes, they were ready to glue into the drilled holes - I used nail glue because it was the only adhesive substance I had lying around, and I did say my snowman was glam! But you can use anything that'll make it stick in place.

I used acrylics to paint in his face, buttons and hat, and he was complete. He's definitely ready to hit the ice bar with his friends, or just sit on my Christmas tree for the festive season..

Super easy and incredibly fun to do, you can find these hand-turned snowmen online here - why not make a whole squad and enjoy making each of them individual. If you're big on super heroes or Disney princesses too, you could probably theme them if you're good with a paintbrush and small detail.

Do you think you'll be making your own tree decorations this year? Let me know below!

Until next time..
