Today's Obsession: Rose Gold

Hey there! I haven't posted in a while because I'd been ill for a little while and this month seems to be flying past so quick I don't even know where the weeks have gone. So I'll get straight into my February obsession which I hadn't even realised until the other day, that everything I seem to be using/buying at the moment is rose gold.
Ever since I bought my Cartier bracelet dupes the rose gold one has definitely been my favourite, I pair it with a matching Geneva watch I bought on Amazon last summer alongside other jewellery from Oasis.
Next up were two sale items I bought in Debenhams after Christmas, I purchased a set of 4 mini Lancome juicy tubes which I have always been a fan of because of their long lasting glossy effect and my current favourite of them all is this peachy coloured tube with tiny gold shimmers through it because it looks fantastic over a coral/pink lipstick or even on it's own.
My second purchase was the bare minerals eye shadow palette 'The Affair to Remember' this gorgeous palette had to be mine from the moment I saw it, with subtle colours in shades of brown, green & lilac there's a colour to suite all eyes and moods! The packaging is lovely in a slim line, rose gold mirrored compact it's very chic and perfect for travelling because it's so lightweight. The only downside to the compact is because it's mirrored it really highlights finger prints  which if you're a little ocd like myself can be irritating. I find the first three colours in the top left of the palette 'Curtsy, Valet & Debutante' are great for an everyday smokey eye and don't make you look as though you're wearing heavy makeup.
Another eye shadow getting a lot of use is the Seventeen solo eyeshadow pot from Boots (I sadly don't have a name for this product because it's worn off) I love love love this shadow it's a pink rose gold colour which just warms my complexion and compliments my eye colouring plus for a cheaper product it's highly pigmented so the staying power is brilliant.

I recently received a The Balm blusher as a gift in the shade Hot Mama! which I was over the moon about because I'd been eyeing up these blushes forever but couldn't decide on the shade I wanted but I am so excited about this one! It's a gorgeous pinky coral colour which has a highlighting gold shimmer so it really gives you a healthy glow, you don't need much on your brush to get a colour and it applies smoothly and evenly. I love this one so much I will definitely be purchasing 'Cabana Boy' in the near future.
Another makeup purchase has been the Maybelline Coloursensational lipstick in shade Coral Pearl 852, a girl can never have too many nude lipsticks for everyday use, this is my most used at the moment. It's really moisturising and has a lovely sheen to it once applied, I have a few of these lipsticks in other colours so it's needless to say I'm a fan.
And finally anyone who read my last post will have already seen my new purse, but it's so gorgeous and fits in with my rose gold theme so it totally deserves to make a second appearance in my opinion!
Hopefully now I'm better I'll be more consistent with my posts again so bear with me guys,

Thanks for reading!

S/S 14: Primark Haul

I had been looking for a new bag the last few months but hadn't seen anything that really jumped out at me, it was always the wrong colour, shape or size. I'd been on instagram looking at all the people who owned beautiful Mulberry bags so when I popped into Primark the other day and saw this beauty on the shelf I knew I had to have it! Although you can't really see in the photograph the bag is a very subtle pinky nude colour, and to me the structure style and fastening is very similar to Mulberry. The pale shade is so on trend for S/S seeing as everyone's gone crazy for pastels and ice cream shades! Plus it's a great purchase at only £12 which doesn't break my budget.
And whilst I was browsing through the accessories I came across this beautiful coral purse, although there's nothing wrong with my current one (I bought it in Topshop back in September) it's a burgundy colour so I felt like I needed to treat myself to one for spring. And I'm so glad I did! This purse has so much space for cards and the cute coin section inside means I don't have to fiddle around with zips, I have the worst history with breaking zips on bags. The colour's vibrant and the quilting makes it look more expensive than the £5 I paid for it.
I bought a few other basics like vest tops and leggings but nothing I felt was particularly interesting to add onto this post. I'm still looking for a cute smaller cross body bag but there's so many nice ones online I can't decide on a colour!

Hope you enjoyed this post,

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who reads my blog! I hope even if you don't have a date today you're still feeling the love! I treated myself a couple of weeks back to some bracelets online (yes I know I'm an addict to online shopping) and since they are the Cartier Love bracelets there isn't a more fitting day to make this post.
Before Christmas I bought just the single gold bracelet on eBay for a bargain £1.99 and when it arrived I wore it every day, until I lost it last month and was totally gutted. So I reordered it but got a bit carried away and invested in one of each colour. Anyone who read my post last month will know I have the matching ring. Now obviously for £1.99 these aren't the real deal. Working part time won't allow me to even buy half of one of those real bracelets, but I have to say these are the next best thing. I love simple jewelry and these bangles are great, they snap on and the colour doesn't rub off even after wearing perfume all day. There's not alot more I can say about these apart from that everyone should own at least one and that I'm so pleased I have 3 different shades: gold, silver & rose gold to match all my outfits.

I hope you've all had a lovely day!

Review: Intimately Beckham Perfume

Today I'd had a stressful morning and a bit of bad news so when I came home to find that this had been delivered it cheered up my mood a bit. I ordered the 'Intimately Beckham' perfume by Victoria Beckham from Superdrug for an amazing £15! (love to take advantage of all the Valentines deals!) I have been looking for an everyday scent for ages because I hate to use up my Chanel perfume too quickly and this seemed like a good buy because I'd been reading lots of reviews on it, plus 75ml for only £15 is a total bargain!
Starting off with the aesthetics of the product, both the box and bottle look expensive and chic. To me it's very reminiscent of the Miss Dior perfume bottle, even down to the lightly coloured pink liquid. I'm used to the beautiful bottles of Chanel & Marc Jacobs and this latest arrival definitely looks at home on my dressing table.

Now onto the scent, I'm not the best at describing how perfumes smell but I'll do my best using how it's described on the website as well! This perfume is described as smelling of white flowers, orchid, rose petals, bergamont and vanilla. I would say it's a very floral, sweet smell but it's not overpowering and really lasts on my skin. Other people have described it as having a seductive musk scent to it and I would agree, it's really gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for in a light perfume. I think anyone who likes floral based scents and is looking for a real bargain would really love this!

What is your favourite perfume?

Hope you enjoyed this post!

DIY: Valentine's Nail Art (Beginner)

I'm one of these people who gets bored easily and ends up painting their nails to kill time, and yesterday evening I didn't blog so I had the evening to myself and thought I'd sit and attempt a little bit more nail art. Now I'd seen this design pop up on google images when I was searching for ideas and although it's better suited to someone with longer nails I thought I'd give it a go.
So for this design I applied a base coat, then Maybelline Colour Show nail polish in 'Sugar Crystals', I'm a big fan of these because they're cheap, don't chip easily and come in a vast array of colours. I bought this colour back in January because it's the perfect nude pink with a hint of a silver shimmer running through it, perfect for the pastel trend this spring and also a good base for French tips. For the heart shaped ends of my nails I used 2true fast dry nail polish in 'Shade 1' I've replaced this nail polish colour 3 times because it's a favourite of mine in the summer, I think it looks great with a tan and if I had to name it I'd call it flamingo pink since it's a really tropical shade. I didn't have the patience to make a template so although I'm pleased with my results I do wish I hadn't gone free hand and they were all even.  Ironically even though I'm left handed I managed to paint the design better onto my left with my right one! To finish off I used the Sally Hansen quick dry top coat which is a total miracle product for me because I have a tendency to smudge them whilst they're still tacky. So I would describe this as alternative french tips in a way, only with half hearts.

Beauty: Lip Balm Hoarding

First up I'd just like to say that I've reached over 100 followers today! And a big thank you to everyone who's followed my blog I hope you all enjoy reading my posts as much as I love reading all yours!
Now onto today's post..
I had a bit of a blast from the past today, I rediscovered the old used lip balm tins I'd saved from my holidays in Spain as a child. These lip balms are 'Gal collection' and I used to purchase one each time I went to the airport, I remember treasuring these because they were (and still are) the most intricate lip balms I'd ever seen and for that reason I didn't ever have the heart to throw them away. They speak for themselves for how lovely they are because they are some of the few tins I've ever managed to finish! But after a bit of research I can't find a place where I can buy these again which is a little bit disheartening.

My love for lip care is no secret and I am a total hoarder, I just can't say no to them (particularly if they have gorgeous tins) and this photograph doesn't even show the extent of my collection! Vaseline is a long time favourite, over the years I've picked up every flavour they've released; the best being Creme Brulée in my opinion. Soap & Glory is another great brand the product is very glossy and a little stickier than the other balms I've bought but tastes delicious and really make your lips feel silky smooth. Personally I prefer non tinted lip balms to ones with a rosy sheen because my favourite time to use them is before bed and the last thing I want is pink greasy marks on my bedding! That said they are good for during the day if your lips are chapped and need a little colour pick me up.
So on my wishlist for future buys are definitely..
♥ Eos (since I still have yet to try them)
♥ Gal Collection (providing I can source them online)
Figs & Rouge (their tins are also decorated beautifully and has on offer for free handcream with purchases from that brand which I'm really excited about!)

What's your favourite lip balm brand?

Review: Bomb Cosmetics

I was really excited when the doorbell rang this morning with my latest parcel, the candle I ordered from Bomb Cosmetics had finally arrived! The product was beautifully wrapped in a lilac box with 'Keep Calm and have a Bath' emblazoned on the side, then as I opened it up the inside looked just as lovely with all the packing foam (very similar to Lush's but much prettier with the bright colours!) and buried underneath it all was this bad boy, the 'Coconut Mushrooms' scented candle (£7.99) and anyone who read my last post will know I'm a sucker for this scent! I'd like to congratulate whoever designed the packaging on this tin because the cute illustrated mushrooms complete with the pun 'Hey, fun guy!' really brought this product to life. The candle itself is white in colour with the bomb cosmetics signature hearts resting in the wax. I think that's a lovely personal touch to their candles. I lit this the moment I got it and within minutes my room smelt like coconuts and I was in heaven. The candle is said to have an approx. burn time of 35 hours so for the price it's a total bargain! This is my first time buying products from Bomb Cosmetics and I have had a wonderful experience start to finish, I will definitely be buying more from these guys in the future and no doubt will be recommending them to people I know as well!

Have you ever shopped at Bomb Cosmetics? Do you have a favourite product?

Beauty: L'Oréal Haul

To me the weekend means shopping, and today did not disappoint as I was able to pick up a few beauty essentials to try out. At the moment Boots have buy one get on half price off the L'Oréal brand and in need of a new foundation I was keen to pick up the Nude Magique Eau De Teint 'lighter than water' foundation after hearing nothing but good reviews about it. I chose 110 Warm Ivory and the colour match is perfect, I applied some to the back of my hand and was truly amazed by the weightless silky feel it left to my skin and how even the coverage is. I have a tendency to suffer with dry skin so this foundation is ideal and leaves me with a dewy look, however I would question how well this would stay on someone with oilier skin.
I also picked up the Nude Magique CC Cream - Anti Fatigue, I have never bought a CC cream in my life so I thought that today I would change that, especially as during the winter months skin can look duller than usual, this seemed like the perfect pick me up. Again applying a test patch to my hand I watched in amazement as the cream transformed into a foundation before my eyes, evening out my skin tone but leaving me feeling like I had nothing on my skin. I love a natural look to my makeup and have bought this product with that in mind, although I think a concealer will still be necessary to cover any imperfections on my skin. I am excited to use both of these and see how they last after a days wear.
Finally, I bought the new Miss Manga mascara (no photo because it didn't agree with my camera flash!) I recently ran out of my Benefit 'they're real' mascara and remembering I am a long time lover of the L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes I thought I'd give this a go, and I'm glad I did. The mascara applies evenly and really lengthens the appearance of my lashes, I don't have a bad word to say about it.
I'm really happy with my purchases and it'll be interesting to see if they make it into my permanent daily make up routine or if my quest for the perfect foundation will continue.
