Hey there!
Already the high street is beginning to introduce some of A/W 15's new styles into their stores and for me personally it can be a bit of a struggle to resist temptation from purchasing an oversized jumper, but it's important to remember it's only July! That said, it's impossible to forget the incredible mid season sales which have left me with the opportunity to treat myself to a few goodies which I may not have even looked at before. As I'm trying to find the perfect holiday for the end September I'm going to take advantage of one particular trend that's really caught my eye - holographic fabrics.
They've been around for a while now and for the most part have really revived that 70's retro disco vibe which has been topping the trends since the beginning of the year. We've all seen them styled in our magazines as great for adding a little luxe to your laid back sports look or a touch of glamour in place of your LBD, but I believe it's important to have a little fun with fashion and really love the 'mermaid' movement that's been sweeping the stores and have compiled a few of my personal favourites that ASOS has to offer!
1. ASOS Premium Iridescent Jewel Cluster Bodycon Dress (£150.00) - a little pricey but well worth it for the intricate beading and unique, flattering style
2. Miista Mada Cross Strap Holographic Flat Sandals (
3. ASOS Holographic Snake iPhone 6 Case (£8.00) - it may say it's designed to be snake print but I think this could easily pass as fish scales
4. ASOS Mermaid Shell Vest & Short Pyjama Set (£18.00) - all the magic of owning your own clam bra and fish tail without the impracticalities! Eat your heart out Ariel
5. Miista Mada Cross Strap Holographic Flat Sandals (
6. Skinnydip Mermaid Shell Across Body Bag in Pink - this fun, novelty shaped metallic bag is not only the ideal way to express your playful yet stylish side but also really reminds me of Moschino's Barbie designs, anyone else reminiscing their childhood right now?
Whether you're a mermaid fanatic or just a fan of shiny holographic fabrics I hope this post has given you a little inspiration on how to spice up your wardrobe and have fun at the same time. And apologies if like me you'll now be humming 'under the sea' for the rest of the day now!
Thanks for reading!
Until next time..
Georgina ♡
