So this year I decided to set up my own tree in the style I absolutely adore, kitsch! Vintage and adorable, and often bordering tacky, kitsch tree decorations are my absolutely fave. So I've been rounding up some inexpensive decorations to get my collection going. Side note, I've only got a 2ft tree so I haven't had to go mad buying everything up, and I quite like the idea of adding to it every year.
So first up on my list are these incredible decorations that I must admit have been completely inspired by Catherine from Vintage Frills blog. I saw her post featuring these and quite literally raced to Aldi to buy every single box I could find - so thank you Catherine for helping me to curate my tree this year!
Available in packs of 3, these Aldi tree decorations are only £2.99! Yes £2.99! FOR 3!! I am still in shock at quite how much of a bargain these are, considering their beautiful designs. I've got so many boxes but I've only feature my two favourites, but you can find all of the others over on Vintage Frills.
The first box contents a trio of sweet treats. An ice cream, lollipop and doughnut will adorn my tree this year. In vibrant metallics with lashings of sparkle, these tree decorations look good enough to eat! Well worth £2.99, in fact I bought two of this set I loved them so much.
The second box is a little more wild and very untraditional. Inside is a car loaded with gifts, a pineapple and a flamingo. The bold colours and tropical feel are so cute and unexpected for Christmas, but work so well alongside white baubles on my white tree, they really pop! Again £2.99 for the three decorations, so it'd be rude not to pick them up!
I will say if you do want to pick up Aldi's tree decorations you'll want to act fast, they've been super popular and I had to visit two stores to find them.
Next up is this cute little Santa from Wilko, at only £1.50 he's a total bargain and ties in beautifully with my Aldi selection. Again the vibrant metallics, and sweet little face mean he's truly memorable. I can't find the link for him online, but you'll be able to find him at your local store.
Finally this clip on Flamingo tree decoration is from John Lewis. A little more expensive than the others he's £8, but totally work it for the quirky character he has! With a twist neck and feather tail, he looks amazing with Aldi's tropical decorations and sits wonderfully at the top of my tree. He's sold out online at the moment here, but you can find loads in your local John Lewis - I could've picked up a whole flock!
On my Christmas tree decoration wishlist though are definitely Posh Totty's designs on Not On The High Street. A selection of fun and kitsch designs, they're all beautifully finished and wonderfully quirky. Here are a few of my personal favourites from the site.
The cactus is great for succulent lovers, at £15 it'd make a wonderful stocking stuffer. The Christmas letterbox though is more traditional and a gorgeous glittery red, for £6 I think it's a total bargain!
If you know someone who's been watching Blue Planet, this whale tree decoration is the perfect gift! Hilarious, sweet and full of character, you can find him for only £15 in either blue or white. Finally also at £15, this gorgeous little sausage dog is all dressed up and party season ready! As a dachshund fanatic, this decoration is very fitting for me!
Have you got a theme for your tree this year? Or do you prefer mixing eclectic decorations together? Leave me a comment below to let me know - particularly if you'd like to see a part 2 to this post where I photograph my tree and show you the rest of my decorations.
Until next time..
Georgina ♡
